Permanent makeup sounds good to a lot busy women. They get permanent makeups done so they don't have to repeat the process of applying makeup everyday. By getting makeup done permanently, it can save time and money. It saves money by not having to buy makeup when they run out and it saves time by not having to apply makeup every so often.

But remember that even after getting makeup done permanently, proper skincare is still as important as if you put on regular makeup on your skin. Cleansing your face and taking care of your skin still remains an important part in the care of your skin.

For others, however, having makeup done permanently is a no-no as it is, after all, a form of cosmetic surgery.

The process of getting makeup done permanently is tattooing using ink that is subject to FDA regulation as cosmetics. Some people have their eyebrows tattooed on, while other people get permanent lipstick or permanent lip liner around their lips.

Is permanent makeup for you? Read on and decide at the end:

• Infection. Un-sterile needles can transmit infectious diseases such as hepatitis. It is very important to make sure that all tattooing equipment is clean and sterilized before use.
• Removal problems. Removing permanent makeups later can be painful and costly. Sometimes, removal can involve scarring.
• Allergic reactions. Allergic reactions to tattoo pigments can be troublesome because the pigments can be hard to remove. Sometimes, people develop allergic skin reactions to tattoos they've had for years.
• Keloid formation. Keloids are scars on the skin that grow beyond normal boundaries. If you are prone to developing keloids, you are at risk of keloid formation from a tattoo.
• MRI complications. There have been reports of people with permanent makeups who experienced swelling or burning in the affected areas when they underwent MRI.

If you feel that permanent makeups are for you, then at least do so knowing the risks involved.
