When applying any one of your favorite perfumes,

it is always best to follow the 'less is more' rule.

When you head out for a formal occasion or even just to a restaurant for dinner, there are sure to be a number of other women who spent their evening getting ready applying their cosmetics, beauty products and a fragrance. You want your perfume to be light enough to be noticed by your 'date' but not so strong that it is mingling and wrestling with every other fragrance in the room.

A single spray of perfume is plenty.

Your neck is a great place to spray your perfume. Take care and avoid getting any on your hair. You most likely have hair products that will interact and change the smell you wanted. You can apply your fragrance to your inner wrists, but don't rub the skin together. It can also change the scent noticeably.

If you want the special aroma of your fragrance to last for more than a few hours, you should consider the temperature you will be in. In colder weather, you may need to carry your perfume in your purse and freshen up your fragrance every few hours. Perfume will last much longer in a hotter climate.

When you want to think about getting a new fragrance or there is one as seen on TV that sounds attractive to you, go to your local department store and check it out. If you like a scent in the store, consider purchasing a sachet to keep in your home for a while to see if the aroma pleases you for extended periods of time. After a while, you may want to splurge and purchase your new favorite fragrance.

Perfume can age or change in chemistry if exposed to sun or heat, so don't be disappointed if your favorite fragrance doesn't smell the same anymore. Take care to store the bottle in an appropriate location.
